"Disgusting!"

About: Dorset County Hospital

Rude, patronising, non sympathetic, staff that are clearly not happy doing their jobs. My experience in this hospital was a total disappointment, I was neglected and made to feel I was just an annoyance to them. All the staff contradict each other saying different things and seem totally incompetent. It seems there are too many staff in and out and none of them are aware of their patients symptoms etc. I was left for nearly 6 hours with no pain relief and in that time the nurse that had promised to bring me my pain relief had finished their shift and gone home. When I asked the nearest nurse they told me they were busy talking and to wait. I cannot believe how bad this hospital is, next time I will refuse hospital treatment as I'd rather suffer at home than go there again.

Dear Tony-r1

I am very sorry to read of your experience and I would like to be able to investigate further and find out who was involved and how we can learn from your feedback. If you feel able to share your experiences in more detail with us I would be grateful if you could contact our PALS service on 0800 7838058 or pals@dchft.nhs.uk. Once again, I sincerely apologise for the negative experience you had whilst in our care

Kind Regards

Sarah Silverton, Patient & Public Experience Lead, Dorset County Hospital
