"Horror story hospital"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I was admitted to pinderfields hospital for an induction of my pregnancy. I was kept on a ward with a variety of women, one of which had an ovarian cyst and screamed all night. No sleep for 2 nights before giving birth. One midwife was very harsh when putting in pesseries, I heard them do the lady next to me who screamed and they said "what did you expect it to feel like". They then did me and it hurt so much more than any of the other midwifes who had done it. They were vivacious, I didn't even know their name because they didn't bother introducing themself before they stuck their hand in there. You are very vunerable as a pregnant young girl in a hospital. Later on when I was in labour the midwifes didn't believe me. They refused to check and let me get to 10cm and screaming/swearing/scared before they checked. Half an hour before this they had made all my family leave because it wasn't visiting hours. I was 19 alone and scared with midwifes who wouldn't listen. The induction had sped my pregnancy up so fast and they had ignored me for so long that I was no longer alloud to have an epidural because it was too late. Giving birth in the other ward went okay, my daughter was born at 4:44am I had severe ripping and stitches. I was then woken up at 8 am and told if I want breakfast I will have to walk to the other end of the ward and get it myself. I couldn't so I didn't eat. Then I tried to get myself discharged as soon as possible. They let me leave in the afternoon. I shouldn't have been discharged but I am relieved that I was. When I came out I felt abused, mistreated and as if I had just survived a horror film. I'd like to think this is a unique experience. But I don't think it is. There seems to be a few angry midwives taking it out on younger lady's. I hope they can sort out some more protection for people in the future. I think anyone incapacitated through pain should be alloud to have at least one chaperone with them to monitor their treatment and care. This experience has made me terrified of having another child.

This being said the labour ward was great. Other services.. Horrific.
