"My son was misdiagnosed by the doctor"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital / Accident and emergency Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Medicines Management

(as a parent/guardian),

He has just started University. He came home and visited the GP to be told in mid December he had allergies. We trusted our physician and continued with the antihistamines he was given until he finished the course. However, his condition returned and worsened. He again was given the same medication. He returned home after a week and looked shocking. After several attempts to attain an appointment at our GP, with no joy, I was advised to go to the hospital (not a avenue I have ever taken). So after paying parking fees and hoping it was enough we waited a short time period and he was called in. Immediately the doctor identified he had breathing problems, they checked his temperature which was 39 and obvious issues swallowing, so they checked his airways. His throat was swollen and he had white spots upon his tonsils. He has tonsillitis!
