I normally attend the Podiatry Department at the Victoria Infirmary in Helensburgh due to my Diabetes but although I telephoned this department today the answer message still says it wouldn't re-open till the 5th January (we are now three weeks in to January ). I eventually got through to the main reception to ask about an appointment and was told that I have to re-refer myself or go to my GP for a form.
I find it very unacceptable why I should have to re-refer when I should still be a patient at this department. I was told by my diabetic team to see someone, as I haven't done so for a year.
Now I am feeling frustrated that I have to go through the rigmarole of filling forms out just to get my feet checked I thought diabetic patients should be a priority.
"Told to re-refer myself to podiatry"
