"Suggestion for services working together"

About: Adult Social Services; NHS Physio; Carers

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who wanted to remain anonymous. They said..

This gentleman cares for his 88 year old father, who has had some adaptations from Adult Social Services, and has a good GP.

His father has had physio via his GP and they try to get him to move without aids and to get into what they feel are the ‘right’ positions. When he has had falls he is attended by carers via the alarm system, and they seem able to make him more comfortable by compromising.

The gentleman feels that these two services should be brought more closely together to achieve acceptable solutions for the individual.

The Healthwatch Champion told the gentleman about the ‘Care Together’ proposals and suggested that if he sees any notice of a public meeting on these proposals, that he attend, as his views would be valuable.
