"Discgusting treatment"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was in agony with my leg and knee I saw a triage nurse with in a few minutes and they said I need blood tests to check for clots, there was only 5 people waiting in front on me.

2 hours later I'm still waiting so I went to look for a nurse to see if they have forgotten about me and they did, then a doctor called me and told me all my blood tests have come back clear by now I'm fuming as I haven't had none done so I don't know who's they was looking at but they weren't mine.

They took me back to the waiting room and told me to wait they will call me, I wasn't offered any pain relief so I had to wait at least another hour half.

Saw doctor again they said I have to go and get tablets, so went pharmacy, told doctor I was back, then they put me in another waiting room as I waited so long being diabetic this wasn't helping, I was there for around 5 and a half hours which cost me nearly £9 in car park. they said I need a Mir scan done ASAP, I'm still waiting for the hospital to Send a letter to my doctors and to get more tablets, call my doctors to see if it has been done they said no, phoned hospital again they promised they would send after telling me I'm not discharged yet, I'd been home 3 days, phone my doctors again today still no letter absolutely disgusted the way I have been treated.

Dear Miss Fuming,

You outline a number of gaps in your care, from the lack of tests and the long waits, to the oversight in A&E where you appear to have been missed and the absence of a letter or follow up medication, this is not acceptable and you have clearly been very patient, waiting for some time for essential care to be given.

It would be very helpful if you were able to make contact to help us understand why there were so many poor experiences within your recent visit as this would help us to ensure these events were not repeated as well as check to ensure we now have your follow up managed correctly and in good order. You can contact us on 01279 82 70 84 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. I do hope you feel able to get in touch, we are ready and waiting to take your call.
