What I liked

from my first meeting with the consultants who without doubt showed great concern and passed me onto the surgeon who treated me ,without doubt the best i could have hoped for ,very understandingand gave advise and offered nothing but the best,fantastic in every way.This being my first ever stay in hospital i was to say the least worried, however from my admission i met the most wonderful and caring people who did all i could have wished, despite the bad press I have to speak as i found ,and that was the best staff around from the admin to the theatre nurses , recovery and not forgetting the surgeons who did all they could for me ,First class i wish them all the very best ,my stay was only a week, it passed quickly, listening to others in Ward 7 i realised just how lucky i was to have been seen so promptly and now recovering from my operation

What could be improved

I think the morning rounds ,carried out by the doctors ,who did not invlove you in any way, but stood muttering to one another ,in my case overlooking the surgeons request for me to be released on the morning,after having stitches removed, it was left to the surgeon arriving at lunchtime to point out that i should have been discharged earlier,this resulted in me holding a bed ,that was required by others,and the knock on effect of giving the nurses yet more work,so if the doctors could see that we do understand what they are talking about and include us in the day to day visits may have helped on this occasion.

Anything else?

my experience was positive unlike so many others, my heart goes out to the ones who lost loved ones, but i hope that now ,at last financial targets do not overide the excellent work most nurses and doctors do at stafford,Yes i have seen the apathy from staff and also the total dedication from others ,so lets help them to get what we all want a first class Hospital, who offer the very best at all times,perhaps the time wasters and doom and gloom merchants can see the positives happening now and back this Hospital and its staff.
