Dear all,
I am in the unusual position of having undergone two separate unrelated operations in the past three months.
The first was for the repair of a hernia, and the second to fuse a joint in my foot.
The operations were conducted by different surgeons at different locations in Staffordshire.
On both occasions I was visited prior to the operations by both the surgeon and the anesthetist, but on neither of the occasions did the surgeon visit me after the operation.
I think it is only natural to want to know that all went well with the operation, and I felt let down by the otherwise excellent service I received by this one simple omission.
