Our mum was cared for on Ward F7 and unexpectedly for the family she deteriorated quickly and became end of life. Despite this being a busy admissions unit, our mum and the family could not have been cared for better.
Her medication needs were brilliant, ensuring she was relaxed and painfree at the time of her death. We as a family were given privacy and support in the exact measure we needed, and a chaplain was called which gave our mum the spiritual help she required.
Staff Nurse Charlotte gave us information and support and included us in decision-making. Her caring and compassionate empathy made an almost intolerable situation bearable and we will never forget her kindness. She is a credit to the nursing profession.
A heartfelt thank you from a grieving family.
"wonderful compassionate end of life care"
