I had to attend the day unit for an operation on my veins. I had an extremely long wait but in a very busy hospital that is to be expected! Once I was taken out of the waiting room I can say the way the staff looked after me was second to none! A lovely nurse called Diane took me along to a room and explained everything to me she was lovely so I was instantly put at ease.
After I was gowned up I was taken to another waiting room, after I had been there a while as I was having only a local anaesthetic I was offered tea and biscuits by a male nurse who once again helped me to feel less nervous. I was then taken along to theatre where Mr Davey my surgeon and his staff were waiting for me. Once again I was put at ease as every one introduced themselves, I was treat with respect and dignity. Mr Davey explained what was happening all the time. A young man called Kevin sat with me all the way through the procedure and chatted to me and even made me laugh( what an angel! ! )
Any way everything went fine and I was taken to recovery where I was given tea and toast. I had no problems at all and I would just like to say thank you to everyone who looked after me. Too many people complain and not enough people take the time to share their good experiences. So a huge pat on the back goes to all the lovely people who looked after me. Thank you!
