I WAS IN FOR A SURPRISE, I WAITED LESS THAN 5 MINUTES IN THE RECEPTION OFF THE X RAY DEPARTMENT BEFORE BEING DIRECTED TO WHERE THE X RAY WAS TO BE DONE, LESS THEN 10 MINS WAIT, BEFORE GETTING THE X RAY, WAS IN HERE FOR UNDER 10 MINS, X RAY TAKEN AND INFORMED BY THE ATTENDING NURSE I INDEED HAD A BREAK, TAKEN TO A&E, SIGNED ITO A&E, 10 MIN WAIT, TOOK TO A CUBICLE, SEEN BYE, NURSE THEN DOCTOR THEN NURSE AGAIN WHO FITTED ME WITH A "BIG BOOT", OUT TO RECEPTION TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR OUTPATIENT CLINIC

TO SUM UP I ENTERED THE HOSPITAL JUST AFTER 4PM AND WAS BACK HOME BEFORE 6, EVRY MEMBER OF STAFF I HAD THE PLEASURE OF METTING WAS PROFFESIONAL, POLITE, KIND AND KEPT ME INFORMED TO EXACTLY WHAT WAS HAPPENING, CANNOT THANK THESE OVERWORKED UNDERPAID PEOPLE ENOUGH AND WILL BE TELLING ANYONE WHO CARES TO LISTEN ABOUT MY SECOND TO NONE TREATMENT AT THE HANDS OFF THSTAFF AT BOTH THE A&E AND X RAY DEPARTMENTS.

Response from Eddie McGoldrick, Head of Profession, Radiography Services, NHS Lanarkshire

Dear ALIBIKER,

I’m sorry to read about your motorcycle accident and your resulting injury.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the Radiology staff, it is really gratifying when we receive such positive feedback and a real motivator for the staff. This is the kind of care we aspire to provide for all our patients, regrettably there will be occasions when the departments are very busy that people may experience a waiting time, but we always endeavour to keep people informed and make sure that they are comfortable.

I hope your “big boot” is comfortable and I wish you well with your recovery and rehabilitation.

Kind regards

Eddie
