Attended The Children's Hospital at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow with a three year old with a viral wheeze and therefore shortness of breath.
Had to both enter and leave the emergency department by passing members of the public and staff who were smoking.
As the hospital grounds are supposed to be a no smoking area it is concerning that staff in particular think it is acceptable to flout this rule.
I appreciate it is difficult to find a solution to this issue however it is unacceptable for anyone to have to walk through and breath in these harmful vapours far less a three year old who already has difficulty with breathing.
"Smoking is unacceptable outside A & E"
