In the early hours of Sunday morning I was taken to Newark MIU with stomach pain, I was seen straight away and after tests the doctor spoke to Kings Mill and it was decided that I should be transferred to Kings Mill within 1 hour but there was no ambulance available so the nurses fetched a bed from a ward so that I would be more comfortable than on a trolley while I waited.
The nurses and doctor kept checking on me and gave me pain relief and turned the light off so that I could get some rest. It took between 4-1/2- 5 hours for the ambulance to arrive, the nurses kept me informed all the time as they kept ringing for the ambulance.
The staff were very good with their care and comfort, Well done Newark.
