"The time from seeing my gp to ..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

What I liked

The time from seeing my gp to being treated was quick, the surgeons and anaesthetists all left me feeling very confident.

What could be improved

The communication between the doctors and nurses as well as between individual nurses should be improved; I was told by my consultant that I could go home; this message hadn't reached the nurses, and after the nurse had phoned my consultant the other nurses still weren't aware that I was leaving. Day cases shouldn't be told to arrive at 8am (and having to fast from the early hours of the morning) if the operation isn't going to be carried out until 4pm.

Anything else?

Hospital itself is good, it has a modern feel, looks clean and most of the important places are well signed!

Dear Becky,

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your comments about our hospital. I am sorry to hear that you felt there was a lack of communication between some of staff. It would be very helpful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 183 0204 or email pals@nuh.nhs.uk with details of the ward you attended.
