My sister was admitted to Torbay Hospital, EAU4 ward and subsequently to Cheethamhill Ward nearly a month following a vist to her in the Care Home by her GP nearly a month ago.
She was released back to the Care Tuesday very much improved following quite outstanding treatment at Torbay Hospital, including over the Christmas and New Year periods.
The staff, from the consultant to the cleaning staff, looked after her with care and consideration throughout and kept us fully informed at all times, particularly when Sheila was very unwell and giving cause for concern.
She has now recovered to her old self, though largely bed-bound and very weak from her inability to exercise.
The staff were always very understanding and extremely patient with all the ladies in the ward, even when they were very confused.
I particularly appreciated the tolerance shown to me when visiting Sheila as the visiting times were relaxed to allow me to spend plenty of time with Sheila.
Overall, Sheila could not have been in a better and agreeable place when she needed a lot of medical and attention.
She was given more than enough of both and she, like me, is most appreciative of all that was done for her.
She has asked me to advise you of her gratitude on her behalf and she is not very computer literate and finds writing very difficult..
Once again, many thanks for all you have done for her.
We are both appreciative and grateful to all members of your hospital who looked after her.
