"Hip replacement surgery"

After the original consultant I had left the hospital a was quickly under another who unfortunately didn't seem to know anything about me , I had a pre op a couple of weeks earlier but no date for my operation.a couple of days after seeing the consultant I received a call to go in the next day for my full hip replacement, being on the younger age group for this was pretty scary, the staff on g5 where absolutely brilliant with me and made me feel at ease, I was only in for 3days and have recovered well ,I went to the GP yesterday and he told me I should have gone for a follow up appointment with the consultant 6 weeks ago I knew nothing of this so I rung the hospital today and have to wait another 6 weeks for the appointment I feel a bit let down by not being told about this .and there was not enough information given to me before hand after seeing the consultant only once on the Monday and having the operation on the Thursday.
