What a joke. My daughter broke her leg 8 weeks ago which has meant regular trips to the fracture clinic. The whole system needs an overhaul, it does not work well. I am currently sat at the at the hospital, our appointment was 9.15am and it is now 10.30am. Today is typical of my experience on every visit.
Check in
Wait an hour for somebody to then send you for an xray
Wait 20 min to get xray
Go back to fracture clinic to wait at least another 60 minutes to see a consultant.
Consultants always running late, no matter what time you come. I have been here first thing and there is already a sign up saying they are running 90 minutes late. How is this possible?
Have they overslept?
I know when I check in that my daughter will need an xray before she sees the consultant. The reception staff, health care staff and everyone else knows she needs an xray before she sees the consultant. Yet, unbelievably I am told we can't go straight for an xray cos we have to wait for the consultant to fill in the form. What a ridiculous waste of their time and a ridiculous system. If it really has to be the consultant then why can't he do them before clinic opens or the night before!
