"Still no letter"

About: Southmead Hospital

I have been waiting on a letter regarding a follow-up to Immunology and in December I was told by reception that I was due a follow-up in October but this got delayed for some reason. I was assured I would get a letter before Christmas but this has not gotten to me. How much longer do I have to wait when my eyes have been streaming and causing me discomfort?

Dear Jo – I am sorry that you are still waiting for information about your follow-up appointment from Southmead hospital. For a period at the end of November and at the beginning of December Out-patient some appointments could not be routinely booked as the hospital was changing some key software related to our patient records system. However, the final stage of this implementation was completed by early December and then Outpatients staff started to clear the backlog of future dated appointments. Without more details I cannot comment further, but please contact the Outpatients Appointments Team on 0300 5550103 or email: outpatientscallcentre@nbt.nhs.uk in case your appointment letter has been sent but not received for some reason.

Thank you for your feedback – I hope the issue of your appointment has been resolved.

Kind regards – Steve Sykes
