"GP referral to A&E"

I was sent to the A&E department by my GP .

I have previously had a bad experience at another hospital where an operation went wrong and resulted in me being transferred to The RL where they performed life saving surgery.

That was over a year ago but I still suffer apprehension from that situation.

so with some apprehension I attended A&E and from start to finish I can sincerely say I was dealt with professionally , with kindness and great care.

The swiftness with which I was dealt with , kept up to date with what was happening and planned progress , I really could not have asked for anything more.

The doctor who was reviewing my case took time to ask me what my concerns were and reassured me that it was normal to feel apprehensive given my circumstances .

All the more remarkable given the fact that it was clearly very busy and without doubt a demading and pressurised environment to work in.

I would also like to commend the Bloods , xray and radilogy department again who turned my results around so swiftly , again contributing to the service behind the scene to provide answers for worried patients .

Finally to the staff member who stopped what they were doing to remove canular to allow me to go, despite being on hour 9 of a 13 hour shift they were bright, breezy and positive! I left still in pain , but with a plan and far more positive about the NHS.

People really do make the difference in this vocation! my Sincere Thanks
