"After care on maternity ward needs improving."

My experience has been immense and this being my third pregnancy it wasn't a frighteningly nerve wracking one as the first. Having had many complications I cannot fault my anti-natal team for all their support and few choice staff members that had given me thier undevided time and attention. The delivery suite is faultless n staff that looked after me were fantastic and gave that personal touch from when they'd met me before. My only disappointment was my stay on Ward M4. Greatful that my bed had been in the dorm with ladies who's babies were either in neo natal or special care as was my son, my overall experience of the ward was pretty much a repeat of the last one where the ward was extreamely busy, didn't feel like there were enough staff off duty for the number of ladies in and you're pretty much left to your own devices whether you are a new mum or not. I had a c-section again which was difficult to manage the second time around and with the stress of having my baby in special care as well was difficult to manage.There was so much emphasis on when I needed to go back home even though I didn't yet feel confident that my recovery was complete yet was told that they needed the beds,despite there being one free in our dorm the whole of our stay! If I hadn't have been struggling so much this time around I would have been happy to return home asap but would have appreciated the extra few days to prepare myself and work out how I would manage whilst seeing my baby in special care from home.
