"Not told about appointment times"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My grandson who is 13 yrs of age had a fall and broke both bones in his leg, he was operated on, no fault with the way he was dealt with, what I do find fault with is the follow up, his parents were told he would be seen in fracture clinic in a few days, appointment was today, the card turned up today posted on the 4th second class post, totally not acceptable.

Appointments now saying no appointment until next Wednesday, although he had the operation to push the bone back. how does anyone know if it was successful or not but to have to wait 2 weeks is not acceptable. what is wrong with a phone call followed up by being posted?

Thank you taking the time to share your grandson’s recent experience at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Whilst I am pleased that the operation on your grandson’s leg went well, I am sorry that the follow up appointment in the fracture clinic did not arrive in time.

I will share your experiences with the division involved so that they can share this with the respective teams.
