What I liked
All of the team on Trauma and Orthopedic were fantastic. The theatre staff and Aneasthetists were great,a crazy bunch who really made me feel more at ease.
What could be improved
Lack of bedside tvs in the area of the ward I was in,although this meant the art of conversation had to be practised all day resulting in anexcellant atmosphere, you would'nt have thought ewe were all ill or had operations.
I am a Coeliac on a gluten free diet and for the third hospital stay I had to make do regarding the first days meals, although staff tried really hard to get me a reasonable meal, there needs to be a process in place to avoid this and make it better for not only the patient but the ward staff and catering dept.
Anything else?
No stay in hospital is the best of experiances,I have found thart in all my three stays in the lasst three years on the Trauma and Orthopedic wards that the ward staff are excellant and all trying their very best to care for all the patients in the ward, however there are always patients that have more focus given to them often because needs must and sometimes due to the attitudes of certain patients and this can be misconstrued as a lack of care across the spectrum which I believe is incorrect. If you are unsure ask,be aware what the different uniforms are and the skill levels attached to that uniform if you require help or information, and always treat people with the respect with which you yourself would want, then maybe you would have an improved stay in hospital.
