"Emergency after collapse at the airport"

I was driven directly to A&E from the airport by my brother-in-law. When I was received in A&E I was awake but the ECG showed no real pulse rate. I was immediately put on a drip and the on call doctor was summoned.

Acolleague, arrived and between them and the nursing staff they managed to get my heart beating properly. The Air ambulance was called immediately and I was airlifted off the island by Sea King helicopter from Culdrose directly to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro. Once there I had an emergency pacemaker fitted that afternoon, stayed overnight and am now back home in Wiltshire recovering.

I cannot thank everyone involved at St Mary's enough for saving my life and looking after me in my hour of real need.
