"Fantastic Staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Having falling down a couple of stairs at work and having a huge skin tear to my leg I took myself along to A&E. The reception staff were first class offering dressings to stem bleeding till I was seen. I was taken into Triage then immediatly taken to a treatment room and my actual triage nurse cleaned, stitched and dressed the wound. I was then taken to xray where it was discovered I had fractured my scafoid. Again I can only praise the xray staff and plaster room people.

My accident happeded at 13.30 and I was home stitched and plastered up by 5pm.

To all staff I have nothing but highest praise for their help, sympathy and efficency.

I see alot of people on here moaning about waiting times but if you are a genuine emergency you will be seen as a priority.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice comment about the hospital and we're pleased to hear that your experience was such a positive one. We hope you're feeling better and we'll pass on your comments to staff in the A&E department.
