"Lack of communication"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

There is a lack of communication within a "reasonable" time period between the hospital and the patient and GP.

Trying to telephone the main switchboard seems impossible at times and generally the call is returned "no answer"

We were very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices/Patient Opinion websites about the difficulties you experienced trying to contact us by telephone.

Please accept our apologies as this is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. We acknowledge that the switchboard can get very busy at times, but our expectation is that all calls should be answered. It is difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate them in more detail. To do this, we would need more information.

If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk they will be able to discuss this with you.
