"Trauma after being diagnosed with Lymphoma"

The Doctor was wonderful but had to tell my husband he would transfer him to Haematology who would contact us within a few days, then referred us to a nurse within Urology, as they would be a good point of contact for us. The nurse told us the Doctor shouldn't have said a few days& that it would be two (approx) weeks before we would hear from Haematology & that things only moved that quickly in the Private Sector. The nurse was very off hand & their attitude was "well it's the NHS" what do you expect. We walked out! When we arrived home the Doctor phoned us to tell us things would move quickly & that they had emailed the report to Haematology, rather than waiting for a letter to be typed up by a secretary.The nurse also rang to tell us the same thing (maybe they had had time to think about how they had dealt with us). The only reason I'm not taking things further, despite my anger, is because we have too much else to deal with, My husband has all sorts of hospital visits next week. I have to say, the rest of the staff have been wonderful so I do retain some faith in the NHS.
