"Premature baby and special care"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

At 31 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed withh preeclampsia and was admitted to hospital from 32 weeks. I was under constant monitoring to make sure my baby and I were safe. At 33 weeks after being scanned every two days, the consultants found that there was restricted blood flow to my baby and an emergency caection would need to be performed. Once baby was born he was taken straight into special care where he remained for just over three weeks. The staff in special care were exceptional and not only took care of my little boy, but also my mental well being given the stress of the situation!
