"Positive feedback"

About: Caterham Dene Hospital / Minor injuries unit

I fell off my bike and was concerned I may have broken my leg . I hobbled into The Dene in the frame of mind of fully expecting to wait my turn, appreciating that there is always someone worse off who may need to be seen before me. In the event, I was seen promptly by one of the nurse practitioners. After asking me to explain what happened, they then asked me the right questions, eg where did the handlebars of the bike land, did I fall on my head (I was wearing a helmet), were my tetanus injections up-to-date? - information I wouldn't have thought to give her.

After examining and testing the movement of my leg, they concluded that, in her professional opinion, the problem appeared muscular and advised me on pain relief and told me to rest my leg (they were right by the way, as today my leg feels 100 times better!). I left The Dene fifteen minutes later. However, even if the experience had taken much longer and the outcome more serious, my experience of the excellent way I was treated would still remain the same.

And in conclusion, my opinion is that this is a superb facility we have in Caterham which is run by professional, caring staff and one we should really be proud of.
