on 12 Nov my doctor sent me to the Washington walk in centre for a chest X Ray to check for pathology. After this process I was asked to wait for a minute till the radiographers checked the picture. After a while I was told the picture was fine and that I would receive the results in 3 weeks. I questioned why,as they were now looking at the picture it would take 3 weeks to receive results. I was told the pictures must now go to Sunderland Hospital for a consultant to check. (even so 3 weeks ??) After the 3 weeks I phoned my doctors every day to be told nothing yet. On Friday11 Dec I was told that the results were now taking 6 weeks as 2 consultants were on sick leave. I consider this situation totaly unacceptable This leviathan of an organisation should feel shame at such failure These numerous NHS managers get their handsome salaries to solve problems, not make excuses for them. If I do have a condition, that 6 weeks could mean the difference between being treatable or not. I hope to get the news good or bad before Xmas
