"Ante natal referral form goes missing-rude staff"

About: University College Hospital

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant.

My GP referred me approximately over a month ago to UCLH. My closest hospital is St Mary's. I chose UCLH because my mother lives in Camden and me and my brothers and sisters were all born there.

I have always found UCLH maternity to be the best.

I went to the ante natal unit on the 17th of December to follow up on my referral from my GP. It was was around 10am and the receptionist stated my GP's referral was there, however my Gp had given the wrong due date. The receptionist just popped my self-referral form on the side and said they will 'deal with it'. I recieved no calls so I called up UCLH antenatal referral services. A member of staff picked up, and told me they have nothing on there system regarding my 2 referrals. The member of staff insisted my GP didn't refer me, and also tried to say I had given my self-referral form to the wrong department (I hadn't).

I myself work for the NHS and find this absolutely appalling. I have now emailed my 3rd referral form. I am hoping this time they do not lose my details and I actually recieve a response.

I am very disappointed with UCLH.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back to us. We are very sorry to hear about your recent experience of the Antenatal Service at UCLH. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3447 3042 so that we can look into this.
