"Couldn't fault the care"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

After my mother was admitted to A&E recently she was treated quickly and efficiently. Thereafter she was moved to Majors and then the Acute Medical Unit where the nursing staff were so caring and compassionate, treating her with dignity and respect. Not only were they kind and caring in all aspects of nursing, the staff were so supportive to my daughter and I who stayed in my mother's room, day and night until she finally passed away. They helped keep up our spirits. The NHS is too often criticised and in our experience Bournemouth Hospital was wonderful for which we are extremely grateful.

Thank you for making the most traumatic, exhausting and very upsetting 10 days of our lives a little more bearable.

Dear ‘Anonymous’

Our deepest condolences to you and your family following the loss of your Mother. Thank you for taking the time especially at this time of year and at such a difficult time for you and your family, to pass on your thanks to the teams involved in looking after your Mother. Your kind words will be so much appreciated by the teams in both ED and AMU and we will definitely pass them on to the staff and their managers.

It is our privilege to offer compassionate care to all our patients in those final days and hours and to support those who love them.

Hopefully the quality of the care, compassion and dignity given to your Mother will bring you some comfort in the weeks ahead.

Kind regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
