With my mother having been transferred to Royal Hospital Ward C7 some weeks ago to continue her recovery all I can say is how quick someone can go backwards. The only words I'd use to discribe her state and care is neglect & a disgrace.
To be transferred to a hospital without the equipment to protect someone and assist in their development is hard to understand in a major hospital that's supposed to cater for thousands of people. Her cleanliness and care leaves a lot to be desired. Having discussed the care being provided with nurses & doctors no one seemed to know what they were doing and simple common sense seemed to be seriously lacking on all levels.
My mother was transferred to another hospital recently and considered to be fit and healthy enough to the disbelief of the admitting hospital in the way in which she arrived. Not only had she not been showered but also had items of clothing with her that should have been burned to put it a better way and her level of health in question. Within 24 hours she was back in RBH on another ward in critical condition due to infection. I hope others admitted to RBH do not hesitate to question what's is going on and the next steps as we felt we had been fobbed off and make sure questions are answered and follow up on the cause of action.
