My mother of 93 had a hip replacement on Nov 4th 2015.
We came for the education session first, and this was extremely helpful and informative, but also very reassuring about the after care.
Seeing the ward and learning about the excellent cleanliness record allayed most of our fears.
The patient guide to before and after care was also extremely useful.
The operation went very smoothly, the after care was as good as we were led to expect, and Mum was very happy in the hospital, and in no great hurry to leave, finding all the staff so friendly and caring!
She was signed off by the consultant this week, and we couldn't be more pleased.
It is such a delight to offer unqualified praise for the NHS, when there is so much negative information around.
On behalf of my mother and all her family, thank you for making what we initially thought would be a trauma into a positive experience.
