I have been a patient at MPH on many occasions and cannot fault both the first line specialists or the day to day care provided by the nursing staff on my many admissions. I have had both knee joints replaced and recently had a hernia repair, which needed a further emergency operation to repair an undetected second hernia complication. Throughout the process, I was constantly informed of my condition and the treatment expected, providing me with a better understanding and more peace of mind. The in-ward care was consistent through every admission and given the fractious nature of some patients, the nurses are to be commended for their patience and professionalism under often trying conditions. The ideal patient is a myth as any nurse can verify, and to their credit, without exception, every nursing professional I have encountered has been a credit to their chosen profession. It is often too easy to set our own standards or expectations and complain when they are not met, but in every instance where I have been treated at MPH I have found nothing but kindness, empathy and professional courtesy and treatment from the staff.
