"SAU/A&E"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

I walked into A & E at 4am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning in immense pain, waiting room fairly empty not full of drunks like usual A & E waiting rooms so clearly being very productive, within 10 minutes I was triaged and admitted with an IV line/Canula in and pain relief being administered. Staff very very friendly and re-assuring, walked me through the whole process of surgery and what was going to happen to me etc. any technical terms explained, phoned my loved ones for me and couldn't be good enough, cannot fault A & E, was moved up to SAU ward 19, ( Surgical assessment unit I assume) staff were not as on the ball as downstairs, however 1 staff member, cannot have their praises sung enough, went over and above her duty with my pain relief, fluids etc, I have not experienced care like it, even when gone private, one of the true unsung hero's of the NHS and one that clearly loves their job and cares about what they are doing, I didn't get chance to thank them as I was taken to surgery then they left shift but if anyone is to experience their care you will be well looked after. amazing !! true asset to MK and the NHS as a whole. Thank you
