"Exceptional maternity care."

Firstly the care I received from the beginning of my pregnancy was very good. At 29 weeks pregnant I was sent for another scan due to measuring large with my midwife and it was noted baby had developed some late problems. From here on the consultant and team were simply amazing. However whilst in labour baby became distressed and I was rushed for an emergency section. It took 4 minutes from getting in the operating room to my baby being born. Sadly, due to his medical conditions, my baby died. However the pure humanity, support and care I received from all the staff was incredible. My husband got to spend the night in delivery suite with me, my midwife couldn't do enough and everyone from receptionists to ministers and catering staff were superb. I had consultants keeping me updated with all decisions, such as coroner referral outcomes etc constantly. The photos my midwife took of my baby were amazing and nothing was too much trouble.

In short I cannot praise the care I received enough. The speed and response to my emergency was incredible and I do not doubt for a moment that had there been any way to save my baby, that he would still be here today. I am due to have my next baby in the next few weeks and I am going into the hospital with 100% confidence in my medical team. I am very gretetful to everyone and the support and service I have received with this subsequent pregnancy has again been first class. I feel very lucky to have this hospital on my doorstep.
