"Diep flap breast reconstruction"

I have been fortunate to be under the care provided by Wythenshawe hospital since I was diagnosed, by mammogram, with breast cancer in June 2012. Last week I underwent Diep flap breast reconstruction carried out by the Consultant Plastic Surgeon. I cannot speak highly enough of the care I have received from the surgeon on every level and at every stage of this surgery. The surgeon is highly skilled, professional and dedicated to patient care. It was very obvious during my stay on F1, where I received post operative nursing care, that they are held in extreme high regard by their nursing colleagues. The surgeon is totally patient focused on ensuring the individual desired outcome of surgery is achieved. Despite the fact that they are an extremely busy surgeon (who works long hours) I felt as though I was their only patient!

I am so happy that I have been able to undergo this surgery (which comes with a bonus tummy tuck) and would urge other women considering this surgery to go forward with confidence. Thanks to all for the care and kindness shown to me
