"Peasley Cross Hospital is understaffed"

About: Peasley Cross Hospital -Inpatient

(as the patient),

I am an inpatient at Peasley Cross Hospital and whilst I have been here, staff have been absolutely fantastic, the hospital is lovely and clean, however it is fundamentally understaffed, which means that the existing staff, although brilliant, can’t possibly cope with the amount of work. There are patients in here with severe mental health problems and others where there are time delays in dealing with them. For example a girl recently self-harmed on the ward and it took the staff 10 minutes to do something about it!

People with less serious issues, like people dealing with anxiety can’t have the support and help they need because there are simply no staff to help with people dealing with issues that are a lot more serious. The staff are simply overwhelmed. The permanent staff here are exceptional, and it is a real shame that patients and staff have to go through this every day.
