"Ward c14 - disgusting"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

A close relative after being in intensive care for four weeks was transfered on to c14 and was digusted in the level of care the nurses and hca gave them. One hca went on to tell this close relative how much money she was costing the nhs due to the type and quantity of equipemt needed & a nurse came in to them after calling the nurse bell for 40minutes to tell her that they would have to come back due to a television programme was on my relatives television the nurse didnt want to watch as they were recording it at home. She was also left numerous times without a nurse call bell which left her in such a vulnerable state. Disgusting!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your relative’s admission to Ward C14 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and for taking the time to do so.

We note that you visited the ward in January 2014.

Since that time we have received some very positive feedback regarding Ward C14, and the majority of patients who have completed a Friends and Family Card were either extremely likely or likely to recommend the ward to family and friends.

Also, a patient attended our Trust Board meeting in November 2015 to share their positive experience of care and treatment whilst a patient on Ward C14.

However, we are sorry this was not your experience and your comments will be brought to the attention of the staff.

If you would like to talk with one of our Patient Experience team you can either contact me (Melissa Almond) on 01254 734087 or email me on Melissa.almond@elht.nhs.uk

Thank you again for commenting.
