"Forget a&e for minor injuries"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

After being given a minimum waiting time of 3-4 hours at 9pm on a Thursday evening at the A&E dept at the Pru, Farnborough for a cut above the eye which wouldnt stop bleeding and had to be glued. I searched on the internet for a local minor injuries centre. I found Queen Marys and called them. The very helpful member of staff on the phone explained that waiting time was about an hour. I drove my son there and he was seen, treated and out within an hour.

I couldnt believe that the Pru didnt advise their minor injury patients in the waiting area of the option of going to Queen Marys.

Thank you to all the helpful and professional staff at Queen Marys, you have restored my faith in the NHS.

Thank you for your feedback it is always nice to receive positive comments.

As an urgent care centre we are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and can deal with minor injuries and minor illnesses and generally our waiting times are shorter than A&E but it can depend on when you arrive at our centre. I hope that your son recovers well from his injury
