"Excellent 6 day care on McCulloch Ward"

Dear ward manager

I would just like to convey my sincere thanks for the exceptional, professional, dedicated care that I received whilst a patient on your ward and, recently discharged a few days ago. The nursing team that looked after me including the CSW's were so kind and caring that I feel they need to be recognised and, I would like you to thank them personally for me. Unfortunately I didn't catch their individual names but every single member of the nursing team included in my care can be included.

I was in for 6 days in total from SAU to your ward and very uncomfortable but I was so well looked after I can't thank them enough. I was kept updated throughout and knew exactly what the plan was at each step of the way.

My bay was spotless and my dignity was respected at all times. Meal times were smooth and the catering staff polite and very friendly and respectful.

The care the nurses gave to the other at times "challenging" patients were still professional and the care was still the same...exceptional! The nurses are run off their feet so I hope management are supporting these super human people who work tirelessly to keep our hospital going because without them we wouldn't have MEDWAY HOSPITAL. If I can be so bold as to make a suggestion can the Dr's from various departments please introduce themselves clearly as I saw at lease 15 Dr's and it was getting very confusing who was who from which department.

Also a special thank you to the porter who took me to have my ultra-scan, I would like to say that person was an absolute gem as on the way down from the ward I got upset as I was very worried on the result and cried and they stopped and reassured me that it would be ok and took the time to listen and when I was ready we continued and I felt better so you are also another member of staff at Medway who often gets overlooked for your work so thank you to you, you cheered me up and made that dreadful travel down from the ward an easier one. I I have been a patient at Medway Hospital for 40 years and live and work in Medway (40 years old) and have seen many many changes over the years but one thing is certain about Medway Hospital and that you have the best nursing team there is so they must be looked after and given the respect, resources and extra staff they need when they need it or you will lose them completely especially the long serving nurses.

Well done Medway Hospital McCulloch Ward for my care and have a very Merry Christmass. xx
