Level B, Cardiology.
December 3rd 2015.
Prior to my procedure I attend a Pre- Admission Assessment.
The nurse covered all aspects of my forthcoming procedure, frequently pausing and asking did I have any questions.
The explanation was so detailed I was unable to think of any questions to ask at that time, don't worry the nurse said, handing me a booklet with all the major points they had covered.
This is our extension number, should any thing come to mind when you return home just give us a call.
Came the day with some trepidation. I was greeted by Lead Nurse who said " I'm your nurse and will be looking after you today"
With those few words all the apprehension I had disappeared.
From that point on I was monitored by the team. As I lay on the table I was wrapped up like an early Christmas present a member of staff explained this was to ensure there was no possibility of infection.
Consultant and Dr were by my side.
Consultant suggested the Dr should lead.
It was so relaxed throughout the procedure we had a three way conversation about music!
A high degree of care and attention was evident, on more than one occasion, the consultant said "we have to be meticulous in what we do".
This sums up my experience through out my time in the cardiology unit.
A caring and very professional team.
My thanks to every member of the team, wishing you and your families a Happy Christmas and a Successful New Year.
