Being a nurse myself I knew the pressures of the mainA&E department and when my son hurt his ankle we went straight to malvern minor injuries unit. We were met by a nurse practitioner who had a great way with my son they made the visit relaxed and informed him what was happening all the way ,luckily the injury was no more serious than a sprain but they reassured me that if I was still worried to return on Wednesday where further. Investigations and follow up would be possible
A good experience
I cannot understand why this is so underused......the triage at main A&Es should redirect those who are suitable to be treated at MIU. To ease the pressure off the department even if it meant offering transport there
