This little hospital is a gem built for humans on a human scale! (Particularly when compared to the less than perfect experience I have had of attending Derby Royal with my husband.) It starts with being able to park without charges close to the main entrance. Inside there are helpful volunteers aplenty. I attended the Podiatry Dept and the X-ray Dept in relation to my bunion operation and found every department accessible without an Idiot's Guide. The staff are courteous but informal and the cafe provides a good mug of tea for under a pound.
My operation went perfectly - helpful nurses, anaesthetist, theatre staff and of course, a charming surgeon. I was particularly grateful for the attention of one nurse whose task was to distract me by chatting throughout the operation. The nurse was a godsend!
Post-op care has been efficient and informative, delivered by knowledgeable and personable practitioners.
