"The Pharmacy needs to be improved"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

The Royal Bolton has increased in size over the years but why not the Pharmacy. As a recent impatient I had to wait several hours for my medication I would be one of many doing the same and unable to free up much needed beds and resources. Surely the powers that be need to address this as a priority. The pharmacy staff work under incredible pressure but please please let's see the Pharmacy grow in relation to the number of wards and patients now using this service.

Dear Sharon, we're sorry for any delay you experienced in obtaining your medicines and would gladly investigate your situation further -- please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service in the first instance on 01204 390193.

As a pharmacy department we continue to recruit to vacancies and look to generate new posts where gaps are identified.

To support the timely preparation of medicines we are embarking on a significant upgrade to our pharmacy computer system that should speed up the writing of discharge prescriptions by prescribers and the dispensing of medicines.
