"Bitterly disappointed at your decision making"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

I still find it totally & utterly unbelievable that you discharged my 83 year old mother with such callous disregard during the recent storms. She lives on her own, has a history of chronic illness, has only me to depend upon over 50 miles away - you discharged her against her wishes to an area with a totally unpredictable power supply, & where there had already been one major cut in supplies from the temporary generator. You were told quite explicitly that I could have taken her home less than 24 hours after you still went ahead & discharged her, yet I was informed that accommodating her on ward 5 for the night would not have been a problem at all.

A vulnerable old lady in the highest possible category - how could you possibly do this to her?
