I visited the Urgent Care unit a while back (Jun 2015) as I was 6 wks pregnant but started bleeding. I was in pain when I went to Urgent Care but we had to wait quite a while (from my recollection maybe 2 hrs), my husband being so worried even went inside the 'offices' (it looked like a makeshift office to me) to ask the staff when we will be called out but we still had to wait quite a while after that. Understand there were a lot of people at the time so that's fine with me. But when I was finally seen by the doctor, I felt that the treatment I received was fairly insensitive. The doctor had a urine test done and told me that based on the signs and symptoms i was miscarrying instead of the pregnancy continuing (this is my 1st pregnancy so obviously very devastating). I asked what can we do/any options? I was told I could go home, rest, and not be anxious about the situation. Owing to the fact that I truly want the pregnancy to continue, I asked for another blood test (i believe the doctor made a sarcastic remark at the time but i wasn't in the mood to complain anymore) so we were sent home and asked to wait for text message confirming the results. I did receive the results after a few hours while at home.
All in all, I prefer not to go back to this hospital again if given a choice. I believed this hospital provides quality service and do hope that the other member of staff are more welcoming and sensitive to patient requirements/situations.
"Disappointed"
