I was in day surgery for a gall-bladder removal.
The operation itself all went smoothly and I'm very grateful to the surgeon and the surgical staff for their care and skill.
What lifted the experience above the ordinary was the care and concern the nursing staff showed as I went through the process - from the careful way that the admission was handled, to the presence of a reassuring health-care assistant as I waited in the ante-room to go into the operating theatre and to the care I received after the operation and the concern and kindness that the sister showed in making sure I was ready and able to go home.
What I fantastic team of staff - I felt very well cared-for indeed.
