"I don’t feel like I was treated well"

I was admitted to Royal Bolton Hospital with bowel obstruction. I was put on a ward early hours of the next day. I thought it was very cold as I had only a thin sheet over me & a thin counterpane, both of which I thought were grubby looking. At approx. 6pm same evening I was moved to another ward (Gastro-enterology). Being a paraplegic (chest down) my bowels are managed by my local district nurses every other day; helped by Senokot (a laxative) the evening before & in the morning Bisocodol is inserted in my rear passage to help the contents of my bowels to be easy for the nurse to remove. Never once this was done in Bolton & when I asked for Bisocodol to help my bowel they said they don't use that & they don't do bowel management. I went 9 days without having passed anything which I think is disgraceful.

A few days later I was told I could go home & an ambulance would be arranged. No ambulance was available until maybe midnight. This was too late for my carers to put me to bed as they finish at 10pm. I waited all the following day for an ambulance & at 4pm was told nothing was available, it could even be very late. I wasn't feeling well. I phoned my wife & she arranged for a wheelchair friendly minibus to come & fetch me home. This cost £22. The ward never asked my carers or nurses. I don’t feel like I was treated well at this hospital.
