"Excellent Care"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I was admitted to the Boothroyd unit to have keyhole surgery to remove my gall bladder. I felt very anxious as I had previously had a traumatic experience of major surgery at another hospital. My experience at Dewsbury was without fault and I was impressed by all aspects of the treatment and care that I received. The admin staff, the porters, the doctors and the nurses were all warm, friendly and competent and everything went smoothly.

The Consultant and Registrar were respectful of my anxiety and took time to listen and reassure me. The theatre team were equally reassuring and the nursing care after my surgery was second to none.

In fact I feel that I experienced the NHS at its very best. The hospital has a lovely friendly atmosphere and that is down to the staff. I really cannot thank them enough.
